Types of Siamese Cats Colors

Certain cat breeds have really pretty and eye-catching colors and Siamese Cats are a great example.  They are known for being beautiful and special. However, they usually have slim bodies, bright blue eyes, dark color points on their face, ears, paws and tail. They come in a variety of colors and have a special personality that makes them popular. There are four main point colors that all cat groups accept. However, some groups around the world accept upto 33 different colors.  We’ll explore the gorgeous Types of Siamese Cats Colors in this article. 

Standard Types of Siamese Cats Colors:

Generally there are 04 main colors accepted in official breed standards in the USA. 

Seal Point:

    Most of us are already familiar with this classic cat color. At a time, seal point was the only accepted color for siamese cats. They have dark brown color, almost like black. Their nose and paws are dark brown.

    Chocolate Point:

      This gorgeous feline has points of color of pale milk, which stands out against their white fur. Their nose and paws are generally pale brown with a touch of pink. 

      Blue Point:

        These cats have a beautiful silvery grey shading with a white body.  As they grow older their color darkens. These cats generally have blue points with dark grey colored nose and paw pads. 

        Lilac Point: 

          Lilac points have a light grey color with a small touch of pink, which stands out against their white body.  This color is also called “ Frost Point”. These cats are generally softer and not as bold as other cats. Their nose and paws are light pink. Lilac point cat is a light version of chocolate point. 

          Additional Types of Siamese Cats Colors:

          Besides the four main colors we discussed above, there are several different colors you see in siamese cats. However, most of them are not accepted by official breed standards in different countries as they come from mixing siamese cats with other breeds to generate new colors and patterns.

          Cinnamon Point:

            These cats have cinnamon shade on their ears, nose and paws.  Their faces have a warm brown centered point on the nasal area. The rest of their fur is off white color, and their points are pink or light brown. 

            Red Point:

              These siamese cats also known as , “Flame Point” or  “Orange Point” generally have red points and light pink noses and paws. These cats were bred with tortoiseshells and red tabbies.

              Caramel Point:

                These cats have a soft brown color on their extremities. The color doesn’t usually cover the whole face, it’s mostly around the nose and mouth.

                Cream Point:

                  Cream point siamese cats have light cream colored areas on their points. The overall fur is cream colored with a soft pink nose and paw pads.

                  Fawn Point: 

                    They have creamy white bodies with light grey points. Color is not as strong as other breeds. In general they have pink or grey noses and paw pads.

                    Apricot Point:

                      Apricot Point siamese cats generally look like cream point siamese cats, with a soft orange color. They have faint stripes that spread all over their bodies, with light orange color on extremities. 

                      Foreign White:

                        The foreign white cats are frequently referred to as Siamese Cats, but also sometimes accepted as a separate breed. These cats have pure white fur, and in all other aspects looks exactly like siamese cats. 

                        Tabby Point Siamese Cat:

                          These cats were first bred in 1940 in Scotland, also called  “Shadow point” or “Lynx Point”. They have stripped patterns  that fade into the lighter color of their body.                           Tortie Point siamese cats have mixed colors in their pattern, like tortoise shell pattern.  Their extremes have a blend of different colors including cream, orange and dark shades. Depending on the color pattern, tortie cats can be split into the following:

                          Cinnamon Tortie Point:

                            Like classic tortoise shell cats, these cats have black and dark orange colors in their points. The remaining fur is light cream color.

                            Fawn Tortie Point:

                              They have soft grey and pale orange marks on their points. The fur is a light cream color that blends into the dark points.

                              Caramel Tortie Point:

                                These cats have soft cream colored bodies. They have a mix of warm grey and soft orange color on their extremities.

                                Tortie Tabby Point Siamese Cats Colors:

                                Seal Tortie Tabby Point:

                                  These cats have pointed patterns and mixes colors from, tabby (striped) and tortoise shell (orange and dark) cats.

                                  Chocolate Tortie Tabby Point:

                                    Chocolate tortie tabby point cats have chocolate brown colors mixed with orange on extremities. They also have striped markings with “M” on their forehead.

                                    Blue Tortie Tabby Point:

                                      Because of random gene change, the blue tortie tabby has a mix of colors in its points. The colors may include chocolate, blue, seal, caramel and cinnamon all mixed in a patchy pattern. 

                                      Cinnamon Tortie Tabby Point:

                                        With a mix of tortie tabby points, this cat has warm brown colors, creating a splendid look.

                                        Fawn Tortie Tabby Point:

                                          Fawn tortie has a warm grey color, along with the letter “M” on the forehead. 

                                          Lilac Tortie Tabby Point:

                                            Lilac is a rare cat color, so having a cat with lilac points and tortie tabby markings is extra special.

                                            Caramel Tortie Tabby Point:

                                              Caramel point is a beautiful color of siamese cat, they are really a treat to the eyes!

                                              Siamese Cat Color Transition:

                                              As the cats get older, their color changes. Siamese cat colors can be confusing to understand.

                                              There are generally four stages of developing colors

                                              • uncheckedKittens are born all white with no points.
                                              • uncheckedPoints start to appear on extremities first, like nose, ears, tail and paws.
                                              • uncheckedOver time points start to spread around the body.
                                              • uncheckedAs they grow older, the rest of the body darkens, this step is more evident in certain colors than others.
